It is one of the parts of speech that plays an inevitable role in the English language. To get a concrete concept of “verbs” the learners should get a clearer idea about what a “verb” is.
A verb is a word that denotes or indicates an action or occurrence in a sentence. In other words, in most cases, it serves the word class that serves as the predicate of a sentence.
Now the learners are suggested to follow the tree about the classification of verbs given underneath.

For example – Robert Bruce took shelter in a cave.
Note: (Here in the given sentence the underlined word suggests the action that Robert Bruce performed in the past. So the word will be categorized as “verb”. Now the underlined verb “took” is the past form of the verb “take”. Follow the charts for tenses for more information in this regard.)
